Gods & Monsters

This body of work illustrates a visual alphabet of the surreal creatures and spiritual powers of the mighty legendary Gods and mythical beasts from the underworld. Inspired from several sources including Tales from Ovid’s Metamorphosis, Greek mythology, Eastern myths and stories, combining with childhood memories of these bizarre narratives and the fantasies.

Each character blends the ancient and the modern as well as stimuli from other artists’ interpretations. Picasso’s Minotaur motivated the fusion of villain and hero which is a connecting theme running throughout several of the prints.

The idea of two parallels runs throughout the series of prints with good versus evil, day and night, light and dark, heaven and hell. These are common themes all composed within the positive and negative space on the page.
