Drawn and etched into the skin are common expressions and relate to the techniques used for this work. Inspired by the idea of our life visualised in our skin and the events of our lives becoming an outward manifestation of our identity, pieces reveal what we are born with and what we add – as tattoos, wounds, as visuals, as words. As ‘manuscript’ means writing by hand, so our stories are written on our bodies – the manuscripts of our existence.
